Piper and her six littermates came into our care at the age of six weeks. Piper is ready to join an approved home now. Applicants must be approved before meeting the pups.

We do not know what their exact mix is but looking at the pictures of their parents, their mother looks to be a Golden Retriever mix and the father a German Shepherd mix. To give you an idea of their current size, at 12 weeks of age, the pups all weighed around 25 lbs. We expect them to be around 40-60 lbs as adults.

Piper is a lovely girl, so very sweet if a little shy with new environments and dogs. She is very social and playful with the resident dogs and cats at her foster home, loving to play, lick and be a silly puppy. When she meets new dogs she will sometimes hang back for a few minutes to assess the newcomer but then is off and playing in short order. She is doing very well with crate, leash and housetraining and her sit is also coming along nicely.

The ideal home for Piper will be someone capable and willing to train, socialize and exercise an intelligent, higher energy dog. You should also be prepared for puppy shenanigans, chewing, crate training and of course housetraining. Senses of humour and lots of patience are a must!

It is important that all family members be old enough to take part in the training and care of the pup, as such we do not adopt puppies to homes with children under the age of 6. We also do not adopt puppies to homes where the pup will be alone for more than 3 hours total per day. These pups are still so young, they require interaction and stimulation throughout the day. Sitting home alone is no fun for any puppy.

Piper has had 3 sets of vaccines (including rabies), been dewormed and microchipped and is on parasite prevention. Too young to be spayed, she will be adopted with a non-breeding contract in effect. She comes with a certificate for one month of free pet insurance from Trupanion.

NOTE: We do not puppies to the US or to homes more than 6 hours from their foster home location.
